Mass Intentions
Having a Mass celebrated for a person or a specific request has a long history in the Catholic Church. Mass intentions are special intentions offered to God as prayers of intercession and thanksgiving in and through the Eucharist. This faith-filled gift of prayer is usually requested for a deceased loved one, a living person who is sick or suffering, or a living person who is celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or other special moment in their life.
To request that the grace of a Mass be applied toward a specific need or intention, please stop by the parish office. The suggested donation amount is $10 for a weekday Mass, and $15 for a weekend Mass. This donation not only expresses a sacrifice of the person requesting the Mass, but according to the Code of Canon Law: “The Christian faithful who give an offering to apply the Mass for their intention contribute to the good of the Church and by that offering share its concern to support its ministers and works.” (#946) |
